“Yes, there’s three as good horses as ever worked,” declared Henry Goddeau, veteran city stableman as he led Susie and Bill and Paul out into the stable yard to have their pictures taken. “But they’re getting along now. Bill’s got a wind gall. Paul’s got a bog spagin and Susie, well-Susie’s just about all played out. It’s too bad to see them go, but it’s better to let them have a little rest after all these years of hard work.”
